Yet More Concept Art
Sorry for missing a week, all! We got busy getting our preview samples of Church and State approved so we can have them to you for next week, and forgot to keep you updated. Do to make up for it, we're doing a double batch.
While our artists are slaving away at inking and finalizing the art for Church and State we thought we'd show you the general style images that our art director Leo Lingas (aka JudgeFang) had given out to make sure that the whole book has a consistent tone and style.
It isn't just the super folks who get the treatment either, because in this adventure its the normal people, the confused, the hard working, the lost, and the angry that can make the biggest difference. Two of the normal human beings who make the whole adventure go round are Ebony and Benny, and this is there concpet art:

Our second concept sketch is of Rock & Roll, the yang to Mikhael's yin, the opposite side of the mirror. A revolutionary, rocker, and rebel, Rock is every bit as hot tempered and unyielding as his angelic counterpart, but he manages to disguise it better under a layer of cool and the best publicity campaigns that money and superhuman talent can buy.

Here we get a look at Rock in one of his cooler moments, dressed to evoke a sense of working class affiliation along with a “subtle” sense of Elvis, this look is designed to give him a sense of fame while still letting him pretend to be one of the lumpenproletariat.

Here's Leo's concept sketch for Mikhael Archangel, one of the PCs main allies and nemesis for Church and State.
MIKHAEL ARCHANGEL
As one of the most powerful and dynamic NPCs in the book, it was crucial that Mikhael have a sense of power and fury about him, a real battle angel who was a little too ready to carry the Lord's fight forward -- often without thinking about the cost. The rage in the face and the power of his stance reflect this, not to mention the flaming swords....
